Majeño

It is a colonial dance, whose origin shows that Paucartambo in the past was not a big producer of sugar cane, so they brought aguardiente from the area of ​​Majes (Arequipa), the carriers were muleteers with their mules. These antecedents have served to give origin to this dance, the personages are an old majeño or pattern that dances with a lady elegantly dressed followed obediently by many majeños cheered by the maqt'as.

They all wear straw hats, a thin cloth covers part of the head that wears masks with cheerful expressions, leather bags, shirt, tie, artistically decorated cinchones, riding pants and boots with spurs, travel scarves and bottle of wine or beer in the hand. They dance happily to the rhythm of a band of musicians. The choreography consists of 5 movements
