By sharing her pain, Shannon Purser, the actress who played Barb on “Stranger Things,” is urging others to not give up.

On Monday, the 19-year-old shared a picture of a razor blade she used to keep for the purpose of harming herself.

“*TRIGGER WARNING* I haven’t self-harmed in years, but I kept this around, ‘just in case.’ I forgot it was there & now it’s in the trash,” she tweeted alongside the image.

But the actress, who has not shied away from talking about mental health in the past, wasn’t just opening up for the sake of it. She also sent the message that with time things can improve.

“Recovery is possible,” she added in another tweet soon after. “Please don’t give up on yourself.”

Although Purser won’t be back for the second season of the hit Netflix supernatural series, fans will still get a chance to more of her acting soon. In the wake of the breakthrough as Barb, the teen has been cast in the CW’s live-action Archie Comics series “Riverdale” and the upcoming Melissa McCarthy movie “Life of the Party.”
