Melanie Griffith seen with apparent bruises on hand, face

Melanie Griffith was photographed with what looked like bruising on her hand and cheek while leaving a skin care clinic on Thursday — over a decade after first opening up about her battle with skin cancer.

The Hollywood icon’s left hand and knuckles were noticeably dark purple while a small section near her ear also seemed to be discolored.

Yet she didn’t try to cover up the blemishes as she kept her blond tresses up in a messy bun.

Despite the bruising, the makeup-free movie star, 65, looked chic in a brown leather jacket, tan sweater and white slacks. She complimented the look with orange cat-eye sunglasses and Gucci sneakers.

The clinic Griffith was leaving — the Melanie Grant skin care clinic — specializes in facials and clinical treatments, such as laser facials and depigmentation.

Griffith has been very open about her battle with skin cancer and her decision to get dermabrasion — a laser treatment that helps remove the top layer of skin, including cancer cells, which can cause bruising.

In fact, last year, the “Working Girl” actress was spotted with a large scar on the exact same area of her face.

A closer look showed that a small part of the laceration, which appeared to be sewn with stitches, remained open and healing.

While the reason for Griffith’s scar was unknown, the actress previously spoke out about how the diagnosis has impacted her career.

“[It’s} a scary thing when you’re an actress and you depend on your face for work,” she told InStyle magazine in 2018.

“But I realize I have to put a Band-Aid on it, and it’s fine. I just look like a dork,” she added.

A few weeks later, the actress shared a photo of herself with a bandaged nose to urge people to get their sun spots checked.

“Bandaged again after having dermabrasion, the final step to fix the now removed basil cell skin cancer,” she wrote. “If any of you have it, get it fixed. If you lay in the sun, are exposed to lots of sun, be CAREFUL.”

She added, “Use sun screen. Get checked out by your Dermatolgist. If you don’t have one, get one, or go to your nearest clinic and ask to be tested for it. More info to come! 💋”

Griffith first revealed her skin cancer diagnosis in 2009 after walking the red carpet with a black eye.

Although many people thought that the bruise came from then-husband Antonio Banderas, the actress admitted she had undergone surgery to remove early-stage cancer from her face.

Reps for Griffith did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
