Description: Siliceous small; elongate, biserial; a minute coil in microspheric form, large in megalospheric; gently tapering or with parallel sides; aperture a simple slit at base of last chamber.

Comparison: Broader and shorter than B. cubensis and much larger than B. compta..

Distribution: Haumurian to Teurian.

Comment: B. clotho and B. brevis of Grzybowski and B. grzybowskii (Frizzell) are probably variants of B. spectabilis..
