Along with the stingray the hammerhead shark eats fish,squids,octopuses,crustaceans, and other smaller sharks. Without the hammerhead (which is at the top of the food chain) there would be an over abundance of different prey animals and that would eventually lead to a lack of food supply for them which would mean they would eventually starve to death.
