🍜 It’s (finally) sweater weather and soup season! City Cast Philly food contributor Dave Wesolowski (@feedingtimetv) recently shared his favorite soups you’ve got to try right now.

What to order: Wonton noodle soup with pork and roast duck

If you’re sick, “it'll bring you back to life,” said Dave.

238 N 9th St.

What to order: French onion soup

This twist on a classic has duck confit and foie gras croutons to make this hearty dish even richer, and the broiled cheese on top makes for a great cheese pull.

233 Chestnut St.

What to order: Bun bo hue dac biet

This specialty of the South Philly restaurant is flavored with beef brisket, pig feet, and blood cubes, all in a spicy lemongrass broth.

1606 W Passyunk Ave.

What to order: Tan Tan Ramen

This ramen has a spicy miso and chicken broth base and can be enjoyed with either minced pork or chicken.

204 N 9th St. [but there are multiple locations]

What to order: Taiwanese beef noodle soup

This soup is made from a rich broth loaded with beef and bok choy. Ray’s is also known for their siphon-brewed coffee and dumplings.

141 N 9th St.

What to order: Any pho

Quantity and quality are both high here, and with a large soup ringing up for as little as $6.45, you can warm up without breaking the bank.

1122 Washington Ave. F

What to order: Matzoh ball soup

“The matzoh ball itself is probably the size of a baseball, if not a softball,” and the broth is “like liquid penicillin” if you’re under the weather, said Dave.

700 S 4th St.

What to order: Clam chowder

Oyster House offers two styles, Manhattan, which has a tomato broth, and New England clam chowder, which is cream-based.

1516 Sansom St.

What to order: Sundubu jjigae

This Korean stew with spicy broth and silky tofu is served piping hot. Don’t forget to BYOB!

6600 N 5th St.

What to order: “AYCE HOT POT,” said Dave. Plus, it’s all you can eat. ‘Nuff said.

1008 Cherry St., 3rd floor
