Description
The red edge brittlestem grows in clusters on the forest floor, in wooded areas of North America and Europe. The mushrooms appear most commonly from late fall to early winter, although fruiting is possible in other seasons as well. Red edge brittlestems can also appear in mulch and wood chips, especially after rains.
