Renata Litvinova, completed her studies in the Scriptwriting Department of the National Institute of Cinematography and has gained a significant following as a Russian art-house icon, having worked as a screenwriter, film producer, and actress.
Her performances in films by Kira Muratova and Peter Greenaway have also brought her some international recognition. In 2003, she was designated a Merited Artist of the Russian Federation.
In 2004, she made her first feature film, Goddess, which she also starred in, and it was nominated for a Tiger Award. The Last Tale of Rita, her second feature film, premiered at the Moscow International Film Festival in 2012, where it was nominated for the Golden George.
The same year, she was given a Pushkin Medal in recognition of her contributions to Russian film and culture. Her latest film, The North Wind, was invited to have its world premiere at IFFR in 2021.
