Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Andean, Caribbean, Pacific. Elevation range: 0–1250 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Amazonas, Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Caquetá, Chocó, Guainía, Nariño, Santander, Tolima, Valle del Cauca.
