Founder Profile Amadeus was originally created as a neutral global distribution system (GDS) by Air France, Iberia, Lufthansa and Scandinavian Airlines system in 1987 in order to connect provider’s content with travel agencies and consumers in real time. The creation of Amadeus intended to offer an European alternative to Sabre (computer System) an American GDS (global distribution system). It is a worldwide computerized reservation network that would use a single point of access to connect with travel agencies and consumers to provide real time search, pricing, booking, ticketing, and other processing solutions.
