Why money man Ross Greenwood decided to ‘have a break from radio’
The host of Macquarie Media’s Money News program, Ross Greenwood, has quit the network.
Greenwood has been with 2GB for ten years and is also a regular fixture on the Nine Network.
On announcing his decision to leave, the broadcaster alluded to changes in management and the future direction of the show.
“Here at the radio station, they were keen for it to continue in some way, shape or form but they wanted change,” said Greenwood on-aor on Thursday. “There’s new management here.”
“I didn’t necessarily agree with some of the changes they wanted to put in place, so I simply said, ‘this is an easy decision,’ I’ve wanted to take the year off.”
“It’s all goodwill and that type of thing. We’ll wrap it up tomorrow night.”

Macquarie media have confirmed that the Money News program will return next year on Macquarie’s radio network. A host for 2020 will be announced in “the coming weeks”.
Nine’s managing director of radio, Tom Malone has left the door open for Greenwood to return.
“Over the past 10 years, Ross has made Money News a key part of our radio schedule and I want to thank him for everything he has done,” said Malone.
“We understand his decision and look forward to speaking with him again next year about the role he can play when he returns from his break.”
Greenwood also remains in discussions with Nine’s director of news of current affairs, Darren Wick, on his television duties for 2020.
New management team at 2GB are killing the station. Their afternoon shows are weak,Deb Knight show lacks substance, lost me as a listener in the afternoon.
Agreed Ross’s program was the best one.
Deborah knight is an absolute punish.

She Beats That Other Guy Hands Down
Listened to the Money news program tonight – I thought Ross Greenwood was on holidays but am disappointed to now know he’s not coming back. Just hope he changes his mind – the incumbent seems a bit light on for knowledge and street smarts – a bit like one of those bland finance commentators from the ABC.
I am happy that Mark Levy is taking on Drive. Hope it is permanent.
As the year has gone on Deb Knight has proved she is well up to the task. To those who wrote her off, get a life !
