Painter Specific, Laborer

About the role:

Painting has been a core project We Surv Charleston has helped homeowners complete since the company’s inception. Whether it be painting a closet or painting the entire exterior of a home, we are able to help tackle what, to many people, is an overwhelming and daunting task. We’re seeking a skilled painter familiar with the demands of interior and exterior paint jobs which can also help train and oversee newer locals. Experienced ‘Lead Locals’ are who we hope to find - if that sounds like you, apply today!

You will be responsible for:

• Knowing the difference between paint types (eggshell, glossy, etc.)
• Assessing and estimating the number of hours and the amount of manpower needed for a paint job
• Adequately preparing spaces for paint jobs - clean areas prior to painting, covering floors with appropriate.
• Tarps/paper, sand when necessary, etc.
• Priming surfaces when appropriate, with the suitable materials
• Filling nail holes in walls prior to painting with appropriate materials (putty, spackle, etc.)
• Handling any mess that results from a painting job so the customer does not have to (not leaving any drips behind, ensuring no materials get on the customer’s belongings)
• Leading the team on each paint job in a professional and attentive way, ensuring each Local on the job sticks to job protocols and heeds directives

Requirements:

• Stamina to stand or kneel for a prolonged period of time, stoop down frequently, repeatedly lift arms over your head, lift and/or carry 50lbs or more at a time, and climb ladders
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be over the age of 18 due to the nature of the job
• Must have a smartphone
• Must have a valid driver’s license, satisfactory safe driving record, and reliable transportation to get from one job site to another
• Criminal and motor vehicle record checks are required.
