About This Listing

I have been a Writer/Producer for over 48 years. I only use Ultrasone Headphones. I have used the Pro 2900's for all of my Mastering since 2014 as nothing else has come close to the clarity and balance I've needed to listen 'through' the tracks to hear and easily make the adjustments needed for professional Mastering. I bought then new in 2014 and they are pristene. I no loner have the spare pads, but the ones on the headphones are in excellant shape. You won't find these anywhere anymore. Like a 65' Stratocaster, these too have kept their 'intimacy' and value.

The PRO 2900 BALANCED is a Foldable, open-back professional headphones with Aluminium nameplates and Ultra Soft Cable USC-cable. With PRO Box hardcase for safe transportation and storage, incl. accessories. Technologies S-Logic Natural Surround Sound Plus, MU Metal shielding ULE-technology, Safer hearing. PRO headphones stand for Ultra Low Emission ULE-technology with significant benefits for professional users and PRO headphones show a specific design. The PRO appearance does not only distinguish the professional line but also allows due to more ear anatomy area a higher degree of transparency in combination with the spatial sense and understanding. To understand what ULE-technology does, you need to know that most headphone drivers produce low-frequency magnetic fields as they convert an electric signal into an acoustical signal you hear as music. In response, Ultrasone developed a special MU Metal shielding ULE-technology to reduce the radiation by up to 98 compared to current headphones.

This is a high fidelity headphone that will appeal to many listeners, especially those who appreciate full bass and bright treble. From German headphone maker Ultrasone, the open-back Pro 2900 is the top of their professional line. It has been around for a while, and there is a reason for that. It is a comfortable, sturdy, well built and good sounding headphone.

The PRO 2900 open-back headphones from Ultrasone provide professional-quality audio in a lightweight and comfortable design. The headphones can fold down into the included hard case, which also has room for storing accessories. The headphones are fully adjustable, and have comfortable velvet speed-switch earpads. A spare pair of earpads are included.

The headphones use large 40mm titanium-plated drivers to provide the most exact sound reproduction possible, with a wide frequency response that offers deep bass and crisp treble. The headphones use Ultrasone's proprietary S-Logic Natural Surround Sound Plus technology to provide a realistic soundscape, creating the impression that you're listening to high-quality speakers that are actually several feet away. This technology also produces the same perceived volume levels at a lower dB rating, allowing you to set the volume on your player a bit lower, potentially reducing the risk of hearing damage.

Other great features of the PRO 2900 include MU metal shielding, which reduces radiation emission by up to 98% compared to other similar headphones on the market. This is an excellent feature for users who spend a great deal of time using headphones. The headphones include 2 single-sided detachable cables; one straight and one coiled. Each cord has a standard 1/4" stereo plug for compatibility with home theater devices. A demo CD is included to illustrate the capabilities of your headphones.

ULE-technology & PRO design

PRO headphones stand for Ultra Low Emission (ULE-technology) with significant benefits for professional users and PRO headphones show a specific design.

In response, Ultrasone developed a special MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) to reduce the radiation by up to 98% compared to current headphones. The ULE-technology has stood the test of international review and is recommended by technical surveillance organisations. Ultrasone originally developed the ULE-technology for professionals as they do spend half of their lives in headphones. But due to grand requests the ULE-technology has now been integrated in other Ultrasone headphone lines.

S-Logic™ Natural Surround Sound

Through S-Logic™ Natural Surround, the sound moves out of your head and into the room around you. Consequently, the music is no longer confined, but breathing once again, spacious and organic. Direction and distance are more easily perceived – it’s like being at a live concert (…or in the studio). No additional equipment is necessary. So with just a pair of Ultrasones and your favorite audio device, prepare yourself for genuine 3-dimensional enjoyment!

Safer hearing

S-Logic™ does not only create a Natural Surround Sound. S-Logic™ allows at the same time a reduction of sound pressure levels by up to 40% (3-4 dB) for the same loudness sensation. This may reduce the risk of hearing damage while ensuring hours of fatigue-free listening. However, Ultrasone generally advises not to listen to music at high volumes to prevent hearing damage.
