Making a difference through the Robin Hood Foundation’s Sarmie Army project

RHF founder and chairperson, Cindy Norcott shared that in the last year, Stokers has been an amazing supporter to the Robin Hood Foundation.

Thanks to the generous support of Stokers Arms Kloof, Bluff SuperSpar, Regal Meats and Baker Tilly Morrison Murray, a band of volunteers joined the Robin Hood Foundation (RHF) to prepare over 1, 200 sandwiches to send out to residents in need.

RHF founder and chairperson, Cindy Norcott shared that in the last year, Stokers has been an amazing supporter to the Robin Hood Foundation.

Even though Stokers had been closed for business for four months, the owner, Guy Stone, was very enthusiastic for the organisation to run their soup kitchen there for four months.

During this time, the organisation made 500 liters of hearty chicken stew every day.

“Since February, the Robin Hood Foundation has been hosting a project at Stokers every second week, called the Sarmie Army, where our volunteers make sandwiches from 150 loaves of bread per time. These sandwiches are distributed to schools and feeding schemes. Stokers have been generous with their hospitality and we really appreciate this partnership as well as the generosity of Baker Tilly Morrison Mural, Regal Meats and Bluff SuperSpar this week for answering our appeal to make a difference in our community,” added Norcott.
