Alabama Inks Eris Lester to 2024 Class

Lester joins the class of 2024 as a four-star recruit from Jacksonville, Fla.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball head coach Kristy Curry announced the signing of Eris Lester to the incoming class Wednesday. The versatile 5-11 guard from Jacksonville, Fla., will join the Crimson Tide in the fall of 2024.

Lester, the four-star and 39th-ranked recruit by ESPNW and one of the most dynamic players in the Class of 2024, will bring a dynamic skill set to the court for Alabama with her scoring ability and defensive prowess. With her complete frame, Lester will immediately impact both sides of the basketball.

Lester was named Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC) Class 5A Player of the Year in 2022 while also joining the 1,000-point club during the same season. During her sophomore year, the dynamic recruit averaged 20.5 points per game, 8.3 rebounds and three steals per game. As a junior, she averaged 20.7 PPG, 11.9 REB and 3.4 SPG. On Nov. 29, 2022, Lester collected a career-high 44-point game in Orange Park High School's win over Providence School. As she enters her senior year, Lester will join the defending GEICO National Champions, Montverde Academy, which is the No. 1-ranked high school team in the nation.

On the national stage, Lester competed on the Nike EYBL circuit with the Miami Suns. She was selected in 2022 and 2023 to participate in Coach Wooten's Basketball Camp, which is the top instructional camp in the country. In 2023, she was listed as one of the top performers during the camp and named to the second team while also being named the top national stock riser by ESPNW. Lester also attended the two-day John Lucas Top 160 Invitational Camp in 2022 which is an event composed of various high intensity skill and drill sessions that focus on developing players.

During her Orange Park HS career, Lester was selected as a two-time All-Clay County First Team and a two-time All-First Coast Jacksonville First Team honoree. She helped lead the Raiders to a FHSSA Class 5A Regional Eight appearance during the 2021-22 season to finish the year 26-4. She has also been named 2024 McDonald All-American nominee.

The versatile guard held over 50 NCAA Division I offers before choosing Alabama over other schools including Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
