LET’S EXPLORE THE BEAUTY OF MAASIN CITY!

Maasin City is the capital city of Southern Leyte and one of the tourist destinations in the Philippines. It is known as “Land of Salt” and the “Religious Center” of Southern Leyte. Below are my experienced how I loved spending my time and exploring the exotic beauty of Maasin, Southern Leyte.

OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION SHRINE

Our Lady of the Assumption Shrine is the monumental and gigantic shrine at Jalleca hills. It is a religious site and sacred place and one of the most tourist destinations in Maasin City. To reach the peak of the hill one has to experience and climb the stairs which is more than 300 steps. At the top of the hill, you can see the entire Maasin City. Our Lady Of the Assumption Shrine is worth visiting because many people blessed by the Virgin Mary.

Our Lady of the Assumption Shrine has a strong staircase that leads you to the top of the hill which overlook the city of Maasin.

                                   It’s ambiance is flowery that catches my attention.

There’s a small chapel where the mass is going to be held.

HOW TO GET HERE?

From downtown Maasin, simply ride a tricycle and tell the driver to bring you to the spot of the Mama Mary Shrine in Jalleca Hills. Fare should cost Php. 8.00 only and the travel time is around 5-6 minutes. And that’s it, you will climb several stairs to the Shrine.
