Mike has more than 40 years of experience working with multinational public companies, Fortune 500 privately held firms, middle market companies, and private equity firms.
While his background is steeped in tax advisory work, his enterprise account leadership role is to develop an in-depth understanding of a company's business needs and organize the resources to provide support. Relationship and team building across the full scope of an enterprise is his primary focus.
Mike serves multinational organizations, including public companies, private equity funds, and their portfolio companies, as well as emerging global businesses. He has extensive experience helping companies with supply chain operations, especially total landed-cost analytics, tax data management, and process improvement. He also helps businesses integrate tax considerations with environmental, social, and governance aspects of operations.
Additionally, Mike develops and implements global legal entity structures and provides transaction advice related to mergers and acquisitions. Mike enjoys the technical aspects of the tax ecosystem and helps companies quantify and mitigate exposure. He helps companies implement voluntary compliance proceedings, tax settlement negotiations, and amnesty negotiations.
Mike is a highly sought-after public speaker on supply chain and tax policy issues. He has presented to the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce, the greater Washington Society of CPAs, multiple Tax Executive Institute chapters, as well as at RSM’s annual tax summit. Mike is a passionate believer in and supporter of RSM’s culture, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and takes pride in personally mentoring many colleagues through the challenges of public accounting life. He is the adoptive father of four biracial sons and has coached soccer at all levels for more than 20 years.
