Soviet actress Vera Vasilyeva passed away

Famous actress Vera Vasilyeva passed away, TASS reports. She died at the age of 98.

The Moscow Academic Theater of Satire, where the actress played most of her life, they said that the time and place of the funeral would be announced later.

Vera Vasilyeva started working at the Theater of Satire in 1948, immediately after graduating from the theater school, and since then for more than 70 years she stayed loyal to her team. Vera Vasilyeva worked with the most famous directors, including Pluchek, Goncharov, Zakharov, Shirvindt.

In the theater, she met her future husband, actor Vladimir Ushakov. Unfortunately, he passed away over ten years ago.

Vasilyeva's debut on the big screen happened when she was still studying. The role in Ivan Pyryev's "The Legend of the Siberian Land" brought her the Stalin Prize. She received the second Stalin Prize for her role in the "Wedding with a Dowry." In total, the actress played more than 30 roles in different movies.
