Embedded in the Mineral del Chico – Hidalgo nature reserve, two hours from Mexico City, Edna Martinez’s team has developed a future lab with holistic aspirations. Mineralito is a place in harmony and resonance with nature and community. It encourages all visitors to dare and try something new. It is a place of awakening that draws its innovation from the depth of tranquility. At Mineralito national and international guests as well as the surrounding communities with their residents actively participate in making visible an example of a sustainable and just way of life. What is created together is always shared and creates further value for learning programs, in which people from all over the world participate.
The house
The Mineralito team wants their place to be a laboratory for new ways of living and working, as a role model for how the world could live sustainably and in peace with each other. The materials used for construction and operation of the place come from within a radius of 30 km at the most.

About the host
Edna Martinez, is a visionary who spends all her time and energy on the core concerns of the SDGs in Mexico and around the world. As Responsible Leaders of the BMW Foundation and Network Driver for Latin America, she has been actively involved for years in the implementation of the SDGs worldwide as a key strategic steering element to handle the climate crisis. She is highly efficient in her global networking and uses her commitment in an interdisciplinary way to constantly generate new forms of collaboration. She embodies a new generation of women who actively shape and live the claim to co-determination. In doing so, she always has a unifying effect and does not stop at hierarchical power structures. As a person she is a humorous team player, football is her passion and she knows that solutions can only be found together. In her work, she always relies on the elements of networking, collaboration, activation and mobilization.
