Natural History: The Emerald Wrasse is found in mangroves and lagoons with high densities of macro-algae. It is often found in haremic groups consisting of one male and a group of females. It is often invisible among the leaves of macroalgae due to its green color.
Husbandry: The Emerald Wrasse can be aggressive toward smaller more docile fishes but it will likely be bullied by larger aggressive species. It is a hardy aquarium species. In an aquarium it should be kept with such algae as Caulerpa. It will flip rocks over to hunt for food and it is a good jumper.
