Leslie A. Jones

Leslie A. Jones is an Education Leader as well as a Drum Major for Social Justice who has a BA in Theatre Arts from The Pennsylvania State University and an MA in Theatre History and Criticism from The City University of New York, Brooklyn College.  She is halfway through her 30th year of teaching:  22 years with the Alexandria City Public Schools and 8 years in private and public Elementary, Middle and High schools in Southern California.  She currently teaches Theatre, Public Speaking, Debate and English 12 at the soon-to-be renamed T.C. Williams High School in Northern Virginia. 

For 19 years, Leslie has directed and produced numerous plays and musicals.  She purposely picks plays and musicals with socially conscious themes and loves to watch the beautiful metamorphosis and enlightenment that takes place within her Theatre Department, Student Body, Parents, Colleagues and Community, while handling delicate social issues of the day. 

Leslie has been elected, by her Colleagues, as a Union Building Representative/Board of Directors Member for 15+ years, and has cultivated valuable leadership skills while managing confidential issues pertaining to Employee – Employer relations.  Leslie enjoys advocating for Students’ rights and also advocates and lobbies for better working conditions and career advancement opportunities for her Colleagues. 

In Leslie’s spare time, she loves to sleep, eat, laugh, sing, dance, read, watch T.V., attend sporting events (she has Season Tickets for Penn State Football) and work out.
