Dr. Suzan Warren has created the fabulous website Wild Flowers of Skopelos.
The website brings together three interests: wild flowers, photography and Greece, in particular the island of Skopelos, where she and her husband have had a house for over ten years. It has also introduced her to a new interest, geology.
Suzan was here two weeks ago to find new flowers and she has added them to her website. There are now over a hundred!
We thank her for all the efforts she makes describing and photographing the flora of Skopelos, but Suzan says: “I have a long way to go and I realize I may never complete it. I intend to include all seed plants – conifers (gymnosperms) and flowering plants (angiosperms). I will not only add plants which are rare and beautiful but also the common and ordinary.”
This is the Facebook page of wildflowers of Skopelos: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Wild-Flowers-of-Skopelos/484886151623009
(This photo was published on Suzan’s facebook page. The flower is Campanula Scopelia, named after the island; it is found growing wild only on Skopelos and Alonissos and nowhere else in the world.)
Thank you, Daphne. Sue.
We covered Sue’s wildflower site earlier in the year –
I’m glad that she is still adding more discoveries to it!
