Trained by Rey Misterio, Sr., Psicosis quickly established himself as a top mexican wrestler and was picked up by World Championship Wrestling in 1996, as well as wrestling briefly for Extreme Championship before and after his WCW appearances.

It wasn't until 2005 where he was picked up by the WWE in which he wrestled Rey Mysterio at that years ECW One Night Stand. He then founded the stable The Mexicools alongside Juventud Guerrera and Super Crazy. During mid-2006 when it was clear that ECW would be having a brand, rumours sparked that he and Super Crazy would leave to join the brand, but the stable began to crumble and his match against Super Crazy would be his last WWE appearance.

He was able to make the cut into WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2007, with just one point lower in the stats than his stablemate Super Crazy
