The Drop Line, which opened in Spring of 2017, is one of the tallest drop towers in the country. Get ready for incredible views of Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and the Smoky Mountains from your birds eye perch of 230 feet! As you stand at the base of Drop Line and look straight up to where only birds are meant to go, you may have second thoughts about this insane thrill ride.
When it’s your turn, you will load a 24-seat gondola at the base of the tower. Once you are loaded, the two-minute ride will start with a quick ascent from ground-level to 200+ feet above the earth. After reaching the top, the gondola will slowly rotate providing truly panoramic, 360-degree views of Dollywood below. If the views from Drop Line aren’t breathtaking enough, the 20+ story drop definitely is!
The instant acceleration from 0 to 78MPH as you hurtle towards the ground and experience -3.2G’s for nearly three seconds of free fall is sure to scare even the bravest person in your group. Drop Line utilizes magnetic brakes to bring the ride to a fast, but smooth stop.
