NORMAN – Head coach Nick Crowell announced the newest addition to Oklahoma men's tennis for the 2024-2025 season.

Bruno Nhavene of Mozambique joins the Sooners from Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kansas, where he was a three-time national champion.

"We are excited to add Bruno to the program next fall," said head coach Nick Crowell. "He brings to Norman three national championships, a wealth of international experience and a burning desire to succeed. He is extremely energetic and plays the game with a great passion. It will be exciting to see him in the Crimson and Cream next year."

Nhavene has reached as high as No. 168 in the ITF junior rankings. In 2023, he was a member of Cowley's national title team, while also winning a national title in doubles and singles.

"I chose the University of Oklahoma for its winning tradition, top-tier coaching staff and the unwavering support of the Sooner fan base," Nhavene said. "It's the perfect place for me to elevate my athletic career, and me as a person, to new heights."

Nhavene was the 2023 ITA Cup doubles champion as well as ITA Regional doubles champion. He also won the ITA Cup doubles championship and the ITA regional doubles championship in 2022.
