August 4, 1936 - November 5, 2021

Ronald I. Dreibelbis, age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 5, 2021.

Born in Hamburg, PA on August 4, 1936, he was a son of the late Robert F. and Martha G. (Knoblach) Dreibelbis. Ronald proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his service, he worked as an electrician DuPont Chambers Works, retiring after 38 years. He belonged to West Reading Police Cadets, Jr. Drum & Bugle Corp for 5 years and Reading Buccaneers Sr. Drum & Bugle Corp for 10 Years. Ronald was also a member of Penns Grove-Salem 53 Lodge, past High Priest of Joppa Chapter #4, in Salem, NJ, and past Commodore of Harbor North Yacht Club. He avidly collected Lionel trains, Vaseline glass, and antiques. In his spare time, Ronald enjoyed boating, making and re-finishing furniture, traveling, and spending time with grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dreibelbis and daughter, Karen Leigh Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joan; step-daughter, Karen Ann Sisson (Jerry) of Townsend; step-sons, Joseph Hrivnak (Debbie) of Newark, and Michael Hrivnak (Christie) of Eugene, OR; sister, Mary Ann Leisey of Blandon, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will be held privately.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ronald’s memory to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 555 Croton Road, Suite 111, King of Prussia, PA, 19406, or to Autism Society, 4340 East-West Highway, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.
