Argentina’s Juliana Awada Gives First Lady Style an Unexpectedly Boho Twist

The First Lady of Argentina wore a refined shirt dress with a slight bohemian twist.

As First Lady of Argentina, Juliana Awada’s wardrobe is expected to be professional and elegant as she takes on meetings with world leaders around the globe. But that doesn’t mean she can’t veer away from strict dressing rules from time to time. (Fashion is supposed to be fun, after all!) Today, she did just that while attending the Argentina G20 Leaders’ Summit, where she met with French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron in Buenos Aires.

For the event, Awada debuted an unexpected take on a timeless silhouette, making for a style moment that was a breath of fresh air. Straying from her usual aesthetic—she has a penchant for monochromatic ensembles and great coats—Awada wore a long-sleeved satin dress in a lavender-y pink hue that was printed with blossoms. With its asymmetric ruffle trim and billowy hem, the style was a slightly more bohemian take on a shirt dress, yet still polished enough to remain appropriate for the setting. She accessorized with a pair of minimal ankle-strap sandals in matching pastel suede, drawing the eye up to her winning ensemble.
