A), picture postcard with Zeppelin in flight over water with "Zeppelin's lenkbares (steerable) Luftschiff No. 4" printed in red across top, message side with 10pf Germania tied by "Stuttgart No. 1 3 OKT 08" circular datestamp, with "Der Finder wird gebeten, diese Abwurfkarte dem Postamt zu geben." (The finder is asked to bring this dropped card to the post office.) small purple handstamp at top left and faint pencil "Mit Luftschiff 4" at top center, the card is signed by various individuals, probably associated with the Zeppelin works at Manzell, and was given to one of the workers to drop over Mainz, but due to the near midnight arrival over Mainz, it was dropped instead near Stuttgart the following morining in a waterproof pouch. Given the Oct. 8 postmark, there was a two month delay in either locating the pouch or delivering it to the post office, addressed to Haifa, Palestine with receiving cancel adjacent to stamp; diagonal vertical crease and small repair at bottom right corner, otherwise Fine to Very Fine, an outstanding artifact from the last of the 12 flights made by the LZ4. On 5 August 1908, the zeppelin was destroyed and burned by thunderstorms near Echgterdingen.

Between November 5 and 9, 1913, the Zeppelin Sachsen made a special flight from Dresden to Liegnitz on the occasion of the dedication of the new Zeppelin base at Liegnitz. A special Semi-Official stamp was issued and special cards and cancel were used.
