FRANKINCENSE DALZIELII ESSENTIAL OIL

Boswellia dalzielii

Frankincense Dalzielii is a newcomer to the global Frankincense trade. It grows far to the west of Frankincense’s normal range and is native to Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and other parts of West Africa. Frankincense Dalzielii is a keystone species, providing food and shelter for birds and insects in its semi-arid habitat. It also stabilises the soil and prevents erosion. The resin has a greenish hue that matches its scent, which is also ‘greener’, fresher and more piney than other types of Frankincense.

Traditional
Traditionally, the resin was wild-harvested, but increasing demand has brought Frankincense Dalzielii under cultivation. Native people know the tree as Harrabi and use its resin and papery bark for medicinal and spiritual purposes. Like other types of Frankincense, Dalzielii has anti-inflammatory properties and is used for conditions such as fever, rheumatism, diarrhoea and stomach problems. The resin serves as a popular chewing gum and oral hygiene. The cosmetics and fragrance industries employ this essential oil to create high-end perfumes and skin-care products.

Magical
The lively and energising aroma is excellent for aura cleansing and can protect against the demons of gloom and despair. The stimulating fragrance balances the chakras and centres the mind. Use for meditation, protection, healing, and to alleviate anxiety.

Scent
The oil is rich in top notes reminiscent of sweet, citrusy Pine with hints of Mint, Orange and Amber. It blends well with Tangerine, Black Pepper, Sandalwood, Buddah Wood, Juniper Berry, Cedarwood, Black Currant Bud, and Pimento Berry.
