Mammillaria vetula subsp. gracilis - Thimble Cactus

The Thimble Cactus is a small cactus with creamy white flowers in spring. A very easy plant to grow, it offsets readily.

Full sun to part shade

Drought tolerant

Well drained gritty soil

These plants are extremely fragile. The likelihood of the offsets detaching during travel is very high. They will be posted bare rooted to try to minimize this.

  • The Thimble Cactus is a small cactus that offsets readily and can form quite large clumps over time. These offsets are very easily detached, but will take root quite easily where they fall. The plant has white to cream, small bell shaped flowers that appear in spring to summer.

    Plant in a well draining soil mix and water moderately in the warmer months, keep it drier in winter.
