Eve 6 took center stage at the 2023 Taste of Syracuse in Clinton Square, drawing a huge crowd that eagerly awaited their long-awaited return to the area. As the sun began to set over Syracuse, the Krock DJ’s stepped onto the stage to announce the band, giving a special shout-out to the hardworking staff and workers behind the scenes who made the entire event a resounding success.

Lead vocalist Max Collins, visibly excited to be back performing, expressed that this was Eve 6’s first show of 2023, having not played since the fall of 2022. The fans, spanning all ages, were thrilled to have the opportunity to witness their favorite 90s rock band live once again.

What struck me the most about Eve 6’s performance was the undeniable kinship within the band. It was evident in the way Collins interacted with lead guitarist Jon Siebels on stage. They shared playful banter and jokes with each other, bringing a fun and quirky dynamic to their stage presence. At one point, Collins and Siebels gathered around drummer Ben Hilzinger, showcasing their tight bond and unity as a band.

Eve 6 treated the Syracuse crowd to a diverse setlist, featuring songs from their extensive catalog of albums. They even surprised the audience with a couple of new tracks, “Anytime” and “Enemy,” providing a sneak peek into their latest musical endeavors. The band effortlessly transitioned between their iconic hits and fresh material, keeping the atmosphere engaging and exciting throughout the performance.

During the electrifying rendition of “Tongue Tied,” Collins encouraged the crowd to jump up and down during the chorus, infusing an energetic workout-like vibe into the song. When the chorus concluded, he humorously commanded everyone to “REST!” like a trainer coaching their clients. This added a new element of fun interaction with the crowd, making the concert experience all the more memorable.

As the night reached its finale, Eve 6 closed their set with their infamous hit, “Inside Out.” Collins proudly declared that it is now known as their “heart in a blender” song.

Seeing Eve 6 live once again was an incredible experience. From the captivating vocals of Max Collins to the infectious energy exuded by the entire band, Eve 6 proved that they still have the ability to captivate and amaze their fans after all these years.

Eve 6’s performance at the Taste of Syracuse was nothing short of extraordinary. They drew a massive crowd, delivered a diverse and engaging setlist, and showcased their enduring chemistry as a band. Their show at the Taste of Syracuse was a testament to their talent and musical abilities.
