When walking around enjoying the plants in the Bogor Botanical Gardens, the steps of Kim Il Sung stopped at a pink flower.

Flowers that are actually the type of orchids that captivate Kim Il Sung. Soekarno said that the flower did not yet have a name and he would name it as Kim Il Sung. Kim Il Sung had tried to refuse, but Soekarno tried to convince him by saying it was an honor if the flower could be named after him.

Soekarno then gave the flower to Kim Il Sung and gave the name Kimilsungia, a combination of the name Kim Il Sung and Indonesia. At the end of the 1970s, thanks to the extraordinary cultivation of the government, Kimilsungia was widespread in North Korea.
