Adenia Glauca Care & Maturity

June 29, 2022

Adenia glauca is a species of caudiciform that belongs to the Passifloraceae family and is native to southern Africa, Madagascar, and the Arabian Peninsula. It's stem can climb and even produce blooms and fruit under the right growing conditions.

Watering: Allow soil to dry between watering in spring and summer months. Suspend water entirely during winter to allow dormancy.
Light Requirements: Grows well in full sun or partial shade. Its caudex prefers shade while its leaves enjoy full sun and will often reach for more light.
Humidity Needs: Low
Soil Preference:
Requires a very rocky, porous substrate. A cactus/succulent mix is ideal for this plant.
Fertilizing:
Benefits from a cactus/succulent fertilizer once every 2-3 weeks during spring/summer.
Repotting:
Repot when roots begin to escape from drainage holes or every 2-3 years.
Pet Safe: No
Common Issues:
Susceptible to rot when overwatered.
