Description

WHY THE PRO RACE BOARD RANGE

With the BalsaFlex technology being used successfully for surfboards for over 20 years and now for SUP boards for over 4 it was only a question of time when a few people approached us to make race boards. The strength and weight saving the balsa sandwich provides is on another level and for these boards it was the ultimate test.

We set ourselves a pretty tough goal, basically to make the best SUP race boards on the market. For that we invited Legend Kelly Margetts to come and take care of it with us.
He then brought over Marcus Tardrew who has had years of experience with modern race shapes and development. Finally James Casey was supposed to join Kelly on the battlefield to show off and prove these boards in contests as what they are:

The Lightest. The Strongest. The Faastest! Enjoy…

01 GENERAL GOAL/THEME OF THE BOARD

A race board designed for rough ocean conditions. With a downwind focus in design the board works well upwind and crosswind also.

02 CONDITIONS ITS WORKING BEST

This board will go down wind better than any other board in the FAAST range, possibly with the exception of the Unlimited range.

03 SKILL LEVEL ITS BEST FOR

Novice to Pro.. Just choose width accordingly

04 PADDLE POWER

Above average

05 WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF WHEN YOU DESIGNED IT?

The board has high volume nose area and nose rocker to suit bumpy conditions and kept the nose from diving under.
Thin outline in the tail for excellent release and glide. Dugout standing area for stability and stiffness.
Fin placed to keep the board loose and east to turn

06 WHAT IST POSSIBLY COMPROMISES ON THEN?

All other FAAST’s in the range will out perform this board in the flat water.

OUTLINE

FULLER NOSE AREA, SKINNY TAIL, PIN AT BOTH ENDS

The wider high volume nose keeps the board from diving under and the skinny tail helps to release the water flow from the board.

RAILS

SOFT RAILS THAT HARDEN SLIGHTLY THROUGH THE MIDDLE

Forgiving rails through the whole board so they don’t grab and steer the board keeping it controllable for paddle power and steering off the tail when you need to.

ROCKER

DOWNWIND STYLE ROCKER…

Rocker is based on ease of use down wind. Plenty of kick in the nose to keep it above water. Moderate tail rocker to keep it fitting in the bumps but not so much that it reduces glide.

BOTTOM

FLAT-ROUNDED

DECK

DUGOUT

The board is dugout which allows you to stand lower to the water and therefor more stable in the board. Also you use a shorter paddle allowing you to get more power from each stroke. The dugout design also allows us to carry through that volume into the nose area and also adds stiffness to the board.

FINS

SINGLE

Great directional control.

Great board for those who are lucky enough to live in an area where the wind blows a lot. WA, MAUI, NEW CALEDONIA etc. Or a board to add to the quiver if you want the perfect board for all conditions.
