Sablé Biscuits à la Confiture

These elegant and delicious French sablé cookies with jam are the perfect treat for your next afternoon teatime!

STEP 1: PREPARE the dough

In a bowl, mix the butter, sugar, vanilla, and flour. Add 2 eggs and mix again with your hands until you obtain a dough.

STEP 2: add the Filling

Sprinkle the worktop with flour and stretch out the dough with a rolling pin. With a circle shaped cookie cutter, cut the dough.

On half of the sablés, make two small holes to create the eyes.

Place them in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes at 300°F.

STEP 3: bake

Let them cool down. Then spread the preserve (or jam) on the biscuits without the holes. Place the other sablé biscuits on top, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
