On February 20th, 2024, a prototype dated July 6, 2007 (38 days before final) was dumped.

Achievements and Saves

This build only contains 5 achievements compared to the final's 59; these achievements are:

The save file name is called "Progress" in the final and "Heroic Progress" in the prototype. The content icon used is different in this build as well.

UI Differences

The early menu. Training mode and Xbox Live can be accessed using mods.

The difficulty screen. Unlike the final build, the letters are lowercase for every difficulty except expert.

Star Power calibration menu. This still remains in Guitar Hero: Arcade.

Videos

While most of them don't have audio, there are some differences in the early build. The intro movie for Backyard Bash has some audio changes and a different design for the poster shown at the end.

The Neversoft intro in this build uses the same video as Tony Hawk's Project 8.

Unused Songs

Metallica's 'Master of Puppets', a song which never made it to the final build can be found in DATA\COMPRESSED\SONGS and DATA\MUSIC, labelled as "masterofpuppets".
An audio file for a cover of Van Halen's 'Unchained' can be found at DATA\MUSIC\unchained.dat.xen.
