Survivors’ Benefit

The order of eligibility for this benefit is as follows:

The husband or wife of the deceased member.

All children, regardless of age or gender, if the spouse is also deceased or the deceased member was a single parent.

If the deceased’s parents are unmarried and have no children,.

The deceased’s siblings if they are single, childless, and both parents have died.

If all children are minors and both parents have passed away, the deceased member appoints a guardian for them.

An applicant will receive letters of administration if they have exhausted all dependents.

To apply, provide the following documents to the local NSSF office: the member’s original death certificate, a photocopy of the member’s identity card, the claimant’s national ID card, a letter from County Administration confirming dependents, and the deceased’s NSSF membership number.

Emigration Benefits

Emigration payments are offered to members of all ages who are leaving Kenya for another country and have no intention of returning.

To apply, individuals should visit their nearest NSSF office with the following documents: their NSSF membership card, National ID card, valid passport, or Alien ID card; a certified copy of their retirement letter, certificate of service, or termination letter; evidence of country of migration (VISA if outside the East African Community); a sworn affidavit declaring permanent immigration for Kenyan citizens; bank details for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT); and a traveling The NSSF office will provide applicants with the necessary application forms and instructions to complete the benefits application.

To apply, bring the following documents to the nearest NSSF office: the NSSF membership card, National Identity Card, passport, or Alien ID; a certified copy of the retirement or termination letter on medical grounds; a medical or treatment report from the attending hospital; and bank details for EFT. After submitting the form, the applicant will be examined by the fund’s designated doctor to confirm their invalidity.

Withdrawal Benefit

This benefit is accessible to members who are at least 50 years old and have retired from regular paid work.

To apply, bring a certified copy of the retirement letter, certificate of service, or termination letter, the NSSF membership card, National Identity Card, passport, or Alien ID, and your bank account information for EFT to the nearest NSSF office.
