  • Drafted by the New York Yankees in the sixth round (No. 190 overall) on July 18. 
    • Was a draft-eligible sophomore by virtue of reaching the 21-year-old age requirement
  • Made 11 starts; the third-most by a Red Raider in 2022. Appeared in 15 games total.
  • Logged 56.2 innings pitched, the fourth-most on the team.
  • Ranked third on the team with 72 strikeouts.
  • Set single game career high of 12 strikeouts in last appearance of Red Raider career (watch). Tossed 12 in the Statesboro Regional versus Notre Dame, matching the program record for most single game strikeouts in a NCAA tournament game. It tied Monty Ward’s 12 strikeout performance vs. South Carolina on May 22, 1998. 
  • Had set career bests for single game strikeouts in the two games prior to the regional performance with nine in each the Oklahoma State (May 15) and Oklahoma (May 21) contests. Over Hampton's last four appearances of the 2022 season, compiled 37 strikeouts over 21.2 innings.
2021 (Freshman): Team leader in innings pitched among returners heading into the 2022 season, touting 44.1 innings on the bump a season ago in seven starts and a total of 18 appearances … finished with a 3.86 ERA … in his innings of work allowed 36 hits and struck out 34 … was credited with one save from the South Florida series … tied with teammate Brandon Birdsell for most games started (7) for returners to 2022 … leads the returning team in batters striking out while looking at 11… has a pair of season-high seven strikeout games against Kansas and Army West Point where he started in those games.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played in Kilgore, Texas under coach Eugene Laffite … was First Team All-State and District MVP … finished high school career with 284 strikeouts and a 1.94 ERA in 162 innings pitched … also awarded 2020 Perfect Game Preseason All-American and First Team All-Region … was a two-time WWBA Champion in 2019 after winning 2019 Perfect Game 17U World Series and 2019 WWBA 17U National Championship … also awarded All-Tournament team in 2019 WWBA 17U National Championship and 2020 Perfect Game West MLK Championship … finished high school ranked 159th overall and the 54th right-handed pitcher … in the state of Texas he was ranked 12th overall and the eighth right-handed pitcher … helped Kilgore High School reach 2019 State Championship game his junior year …  played summer ball for the Thomas Hitting Academy under coach Tanner Matthews and for the Canes under coach Jeff Petty … chose Tech over Dallas Baptist and Oklahoma State.
