Blaenau Gwent

Morning Guardian

Covering the towns of Ebbw Vale, Brynmawr and Abertillery, this fflecsi service is split into two zones. Zone 1 operates in and around Ebbw Vale in the early mornings and evenings, with a fixed line service running between 09.24am and 17.45. The E1 and E2 routes and timetables are available to view. Zone 2 operates in Brynmawr down towards Abertillery and Llanhilleth.

Things to do

  • Standing tall on the site of the former Six Bells Colliery, the Guardian statue is a memorial to those who lost their lives in the Six Bells Colliery disaster in 1960. This is a must see if you’re in the area to get a sense the importance of mining to this part of Wales and how it’s shaped the landscape.
  • Catch a film at one of Wales’s oldest cinemas - Market Hall cinema in Brynmawr town square is the longest continually running cinema in Wales and is still going strong today.
  • Visit the Owl Sanctuary at the site of the former Festival Park shopping centre.

Onward connections

  • Rail connections towards Newport and Cardiff from Ebbw Vale town, Ebbw Vale Parkway and Llanhilleth.
  • Connections to local bus services.
