Poland is Beautiful | Exploring the Old City of Krakow

In September I spent a few weeks in Poland. One of the cities I have visited was Kraków, an ancient capital of Poland, currently one of the most important cultural centres in Europe. Below you can see the video of my trip from Wroclaw to Krakow by train and the time I spent there walking along the cobblestoned streets of the Old City.

Krakow is a breathtaking city, full of culture, history, with stunning architecture, and, more importantly, lovely, friendly, and extremely helpful people.

For all the bibliophiles out there, if you are ever in Krakow, I highly recommend you visit an English-language bookshop and cafe, called Massolit, located in 4 Felicjanek Street. Also, you cannot miss Cafe Cytat located in The Old Jewish District of Krakow. Cafe Cytat is the most bookish cafe I have been to; it is located in 23 Miodowa Street, just a few steps away from the lovely, atmospheric hotel called Oberza where I stayed during my week in Krakow.

You also have to visit one of the Pierogarnias in Krakow, a bar or restaurant serving a very Polish specialty called Pierogi, the most delicious dumplings with a variety of fillings. While in Kazimierz, you also have to check the place called Okraglak where they serve another Polish specialty called Zapiekanka.

If you are visiting Krakow in October, then check the programme for one of the biggest literary events in Europe called Conrad Festival which takes place every year in Krakow. Conrad Festival was named after a Polish writer who wrote in English, called Joseph Conrad. The array of writers from all corners of the worlds who participate in this festival is amazing. I highly recommend you attend a few talks if you happen to be in Krakow at the time of the festival.

I hope you will enjoy both videos and they will encourage you to visit a beautiful country of Poland, especially Krakow and Wroclaw.

Sending all of you many hugs, warm cups of cardamom coffee and lemon tea, plenty of heart-warming stories, and slow, peaceful moments in life.

  1. Hi,
I have read the article find out that you have done amazing job . No doubt, The Krakow is the best place to visit for the adventures with amazing historical places, beautiful people, culture and Wavel Castle or Royal Castle is an important site in Poland. For centuries the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood, the Castle is now one of the country’s premier art museums. You have described the things so well and easier to decide and gets booked to travel to.
