Nigel Young

Nigel Young is the current Global Head of Engineering at AlphaLab Capital. Nigel has over twenty years of experience in the technology industry, including stints as a partner, Chief Technology Officer, Director of Technology, and Director of IT & Operations.

Nigel's previous company was Ingensoma Trading Group Ltd, where they served as CTO from February 2018 to May 2022. Prior to that, Nigel was with Spot Trading LLC for ten years, from December 2010 to February 2018. Nigel started at Spot Trading as a Partner and Chief Technology Officer, then became the Director of Technology, and finally the Director of IT & Operations.

Before their time at Spot Trading, Nigel worked as IT Infrastructure Lead at Quantitative Risk Management from January 2006 to March 2007, and as a Fixed Income Trader at Breakwater Trading from October 2004 to December 2005. Nigel's first job in the tech industry was as a Technical Architect at Citadel Investment Group from August 2002 to October 2004.

Nigel began their career as a Technical Lead at JPMorgan Chase from June 1998 to June 2002. Nigel then became a Technical Analyst Project Team Manager at IBM from October 1996 to June 1998.

Nigel Young's educational career began at The University of Salford, where they earned a degree in finance. Nigel then went on to earn two certifications from FINRA in Series 7 and Series 56.

Their manager is John Gu, Founder & CEO. They work with Max Marley-Muray - Head of Recruiting, Stephany Zoo - Head of Community & Communications, and Julia Zhou - Partner, Venture & Market-Making. and Tomasz Tomalak - Head of Engineering, Poland reports to Nigel Young.
