Riyom Rocks, placed by an unseen hand

Riyom Rocks are a set of spectacular granite rock formations in central Nigeria , about 30 kilometers south of Jos, the Plateau state capital, on the road to Akwanga. These unique rock arrangements leave the impression that they were put together by an unseen hand, and also leaves the visitor wondering how such an unseen hand could’ve wrought such wonders.

It is in a region where volcanic activity is believed to have resulted in eruptions and the spewing of lava over wide areas more than 50 million years ago, creating a scenery dominated by boulders – big and small – scattered unevenly amid undulating hillocks and deep, cratering valleys. It is a region rich in minerals such as tin and columbite.
