Touring across Karnataka
If you are craving for some uninterrupted leisure time in the midst of nature, beaches, virgin forests, hills and waterfalls, one of the best destinations to visit is Karnataka. It is home to some of the best beaches in India along with wildlife sanctuaries and a whole lot more.

Dandeli
It is a paradise of sorts located in the Western Ghats of Uttara Kanada (North Karnataka). Dandeli has a mixed population of people hailing from different parts of India. The presence of Kali River in Dandeli make it a wonderful water sports destination such as white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking and rappelling among others. The ambiance around the river is a perfect habitat for birds like hornbill, and hence, a bird-watching destination.
On the other hand, Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary and Anshi National Park are also worth visiting for a jungle safari. The Supa Dam, located 22 km from Dandeli town, is also a thriving place watersports in Dandeli. Other tourist spots in Dandeli are Sykes Point, Shiroli Peak, Dandelappa Temple and Syntheri Rocks.

Gokarna
Gokarna is the ideal beach town of Karnataka known for its pristine beaches like the Om Beach, Half Moon Beach and Paradise Beach. It is also home to the Mahabaleshwar Temple. If you wish to witness the cycling, trekking and mountaineering, visit Yana, a town located close to Gokarna. The beautiful beaches are conducive for watersports such as surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, parasailing, and jet skiing. Gokarna has a pleasant climate during winters which is a good reason to visit this beach town.

Hampi
Hampi is a beautiful temple town in north Karnataka located on the banks of Tungabhadra River and a former capital of the historical Vijayanagara Dynasty. But the real identity of Hampi is its association with the events of Ramayana. As per the scripture, Hampi is the erstwhile Kishkindha, where Prince Rama of Ayodhya and his brother Lakshmana had met the king of apes Sugriva and Hanuman along with their other associates during their wanderings. It is also said that Hampi was the second largest city in the world. The Yantrodharaka Hanuman Temple, Stone Chariot, Virupaksha Temple, Vithala Temple and Nandi Statue are some of the important places to visit in this town.

Chikmagalur
Also known as the Coffee Land of Karnataka, Chikmagalur is noted for the Mullayangiri Range which makes it popular among the trekkers and explorers. It is also spiritual retreat due to the presence of several temples. Perched at an altitude of 3400 ft, Chikmagalur is a nature’s wonder for its waterfalls such as Jhari Waterfalls, Shankar Falls, Hanuman Gundi Waterfalls and Kadambi Falls.
