Chindi Mata Temple

It is a picturesque temple carved in wood and built in multiple stories with gabled roofs endowed with totems and symbols. There is a wood-carved deer head on the roof, wood-carved flying eagles occupy other roofs and statues of wooden Tiger guard the main gates. Scenes from the Hindu scriptures reflect on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum. There is an awe-inspiring circular step-well outside the temple. The main deity of this temple is Goddess Chandi–a fierce aspect of Devi Durga. Reach early to explore this temple.

Mamleshwar Temple

It is a very popular temple in Karsog Valley situated in Karsog town, therefore, it is not to be missed. Located about 40 minutes drive from Chindi, it is an old wood and stone temple with lovely carvings. It is believed that this shrine was made by the Pandava heroes during one of their exiles, and the huge temple drum was played by the second and most powerful of the Pandavas–Prince Bheema.

Kamakshi Temple

About 17 km from Chindi, is the shrine of Kamakshi Devi in Kau. The brass statue of Devi wearing ornate silver ornaments is a delight to behold. It has gabled roofs and detailed wood carvings, chimes and pendants.

Shikari Devi Temple

Shikari Devi Temple is located about 100 km from Chindi. Apparently, reaching this temple demands enough patience, but being here is an enriching experience. It is a temple with no roof surrounded by beautiful meadows.
