Actress Urmila Matondkar recently appeared in the Sunday special episode of Khupte Tithe Gupte. The actress spoke about her childhood days, and career in the film industry with the host Avadhoot Gupte. She also made various revelations about her co-actors Anil Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and reminisced memories of the 90s. Take a look
In the show, Urmila spoke about her family background and how she never celebrated her birthday due to a financial crisis in her family. She said, "In my childhood, my parents tried their best to balance their finances despite having less money. My brother and I never celebrated our birthdays in childhood because of our financial status. Despite the condition, my parents taught me to donate some to organisations and I feel so blessed that I was born into such a family.
Director N Chandra's video was shown on the show where he asked Urmila why she did not ever take his name in her interviews despite giving her popular films like Narsimha. Urmila apologised to N Chandra on the stage and said that he has done a lot for her and that she has not forgotten him and will always be grateful to him.
Urmila clarified about her marriage and refuted the rumours of converting to Islam. She said "My husband and his family never told me to change the religion. We both respect our religions. I will always be a Hindu. I have not changed my religion. This is a really weird thing that people often troll me about."
Urmila revealed when she met her husband Mohsin and said, "I met Mohsin at the wedding of Manish Malhotra's niece's sister. We later became friends and decided to get married."
When host Avadhoot asked Urmila about her favourite politician and she said, "Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray should come together. They both can handle the government very well."
