Printing

The da Vinci 1.0 AiO is an FDM 3D printer that can print layers at 100 microns. The surface finish is not as smooth as you get with the more expensive printers, but is more than enough for prototyping and household use. The printer works at a consistent speed providing decent results in more than acceptable times. At the end of the printing, the machine starts cooling down. A final beep will inform you when the bed is cool enough to touch.

3D scanning

The 3D scanning process is fairly straightforward too. The high-tech laser sensors and the efficient turn-table allow scanning objects up to Ø 150 x 150 mm with 0.25 mm accuracy in less than 5 minutes, getting precise results. After scanning a model, the integrated XYZscan software shows a preview of the detected edges. You can then decide to fix, smooth or completely edit the scan to create original objects.

Materials

da Vinci 1.0 AiO prints with PLA, ABS, Flexible, Tough PLA and other materials. 

The extruder comes with a fan for printing with PLA-type materials. By cooling the model down, it reduces warping, stringing and, generally, makes for higher quality prints.

Unlike many FDM printers, the da Vinci 1.0 AiO has a heated print bed made of glass and closed print chamber, which means it can reliably print with ABS-type materials.

The da Vinci 1.0 AiO only works with own-brand, chipped filament cartridges. This ensures quality, as all the branded materials go through a strict quality assurance process. Each cartridge has a sensor contact port attached to its bottom which allows easy recognition of the filament to automatically set the right material profile. It also informs you about how much filament is left.
