We’re thrilled to announce that Eddie Johnson, one of the youngest players to sign with Major League Soccer and 8th on the US Men’s National team all-time scoring list, has joined the Trace family!

Johnson played for the United States men’s national soccer team from 2004 to 2014 and ranked atop the list of goal-scorers at the time of his retirement. From 2001 to 2015 he played for FC Dallas, Kansas City Wizards, Seattle Sounders FC, and DC United and led the MLS in scoring in the 2012 season. Johnson’s career also featured a stint with Fulham in the Premier League amongst other European clubs.

Eddie now coaches and mentors elite youth soccer players from six to 18 years old. His philosophy for developing the next generation of soccer players centers around fueling their motivation and catering to their individual needs in order to bring out their best in a way that makes everyone else on the team better. Johnson also works with high-profile professionals like Christian Pulisic, Justin Meram, Cyle Larin, Dom Dwyer, and Sydney Leroux.

Johnson will not just serve as an ambassador for our brand, but will actually use Trace to capture every minute of every session with his young athletes. He’ll use video highlights and performance data to understand and cater to the individual needs of his players, to design strategy that builds around their strengths, and to bring parents along the journey in a way that is not only more engaging for them but that deepens their relationship with their player and the program that is helping shape them and turn them into the next generation of professional footballers.
