Western White Barrow lies on the southern part of Dartmoor near to the Two Moors Way and Zeal Tramway track which was built to take clay from Redlake to Shipley Bridge. Western White Barrow was originally a Bronze Age cairn but peat workers removed most of the stone to construct a hut for themselves. It sits in a fantastic position with great views in every direction particularly back towards Redlake and Green Hill, with Plymouth Sound in view on a clear day to the south west. No military activity or firing ranges in this area.
