Kathryn Adduci

Kathryn James Adduci is a versatile trumpet player who has performed in many countries throughout the world. She has appeared with numerous professional groups in her native country Australia as well as performing with orchestras in Malaysia, Canada, and the United States. Kathryn is also highly-regarded for her work with historical instruments and performs with numerous period instrument groups in North America, including the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, and the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. The featured soloist on the CD ‘Forte e Dolce’ with the BaroqueChamber Orchestra of Colorado, she can also be heard on over 20 recordings on other labels.

A graduate of the University of Western Australia (BM), University of Georgia (MM), and the University of NorthTexas (DMA), Kathryn was Professor of Trumpet and Brass Area Coordinator at San José State University for 12 years and has held additional teaching positions at Tennessee Tech University, Tennessee StateUniversity, and the University of Western Australia. Amy Cherry

Amy Cherry is a freelance musician and trumpet teacher in the Philadelphia area. She currently performs with the Brandywine Brass Quintet, the Liberty Wind Ensemble, and the Maryland Winds.  She has served as Principal Trumpet with the Asheville Lyric Opera, Assistant Principal Trumpet with the Spartanburg Philharmonic, and Third Trumpet with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with numerous ensembles including the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Opera, Allentown Symphony, Reading Symphony, Garden State Philharmonic, Cincinnati Opera, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Winston-Salem Symphony, Flat Rock Playhouse, Mannheim Steamroller, Monarch Brass Ensemble, Athena Brass Band, and the Summit Brass Ensemble.

Since 2000, Dr. Cherry has been involved with the International Women’s Brass Conference (IWBC) and currently serves as Vice-President of that organization.  She also authors a column exploring health and wellness issues for brass players, entitled Brass in Balance, which is published in the IWBC newsletter.

Amy is an active chamber musician interested in reaching new audiences and expanding the repertoire for brass instruments. To achieve those goals she founded the Balaton Chamber Brass in 2010 with her husband, trombonist Dan Cherry. Lauren Eberhart

Lauren Eberhart is currently Second Trumpet with the San Antonio Symphony and Second Trumpet with the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, California. She has also held positions of Co-Principal Trumpet in the San Antonio Opera Orchestra and Acting Principal Trumpet in the San Antonio Symphony for the 2007-2008 season. She has played with the Charleston, Dallas, Houston, and San Diego Symphonies and was previously a member of the Savannah Symphony. Solo performances include Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #2 with the San Antonio Symphony and solo recitals though out the country.

In addition to her playing duties, Lauren has been an adjunct Instructor of Trumpet at San Antonio College and has previously served as adjunct faculty at Texas A & M University, Kingsville and Savannah State Colleges. She has also performed extensively with the San Antonio Brass Quintet and was a founding member of the Hemisphere Brass Quintet.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and a Master of Music degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Her principal teachers were the late Mary K. Squire, James Darling, and Thomas Booth.

Theresa Hanebury

Theresa Hanebury has been a member of the Houston Ballet Orchestra since 1983 where in addition to playing with the orchestra she also now serves as Music Librarian and Pianists’ Manager. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Hartford, Hartt School of Music in 1983. Ms. Hanebury toured extensively with Texas Opera Theatre from 1984 to 1987, and has performed with the Texas Chamber Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera, Fort Worth Symphony, Lubbock Symphony and the Imperial Brass.

In addition to her positions with the Ballet Orchestra, Ms. Hanebury currently performs with the Athena Brass Band, Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and the Ambient Brass Quintet. She performs with Monarch Brass Ensemble, Houston Chamber Orchestra and the American Pops Orchestra and also serves as Personnel Manager for these groups. She works extensively as a musician’s contractor in the Houston/Galveston area for many churches, schools and touring shows. Theresa May

Theresa J. May is a native of Shaker Heights, Ohio. She holds a Master’s degree in trumpet performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Dayton. Theresa is adjunct faculty at Cuyahoga Community College where she teaches Applied Trumpet and World Music.

She is also adjunct faculty at John Carroll University, where she teaches World Music. Theresa is a teaching artist with the Roots of American Music organization in Cleveland, Ohio and is a co-founder of the Chromatic Brass Collective, an organization for brass musicians that celebrates, performs, mentors, and educates to increase the visibility of racially and ethnically underrepresented women and gender non-conforming people throughout the brass world.

As a private lesson instructor, Theresa maintains several studios in and around the city of Cleveland and is a member of Black Classical Musical Educators (BCME). Theresa performs regularly with Gabriel’s Horns, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, and Mourning [A] BLKstar. She continues to perform in the Colour of Music Festival, a Classical music festival featuring musicians of color, and has also been featured as a guest artist in the Alumni Recital Series at the University of Dayton.

Melissa Mūnoz

Melissa Muñoz is a vibrant and dedicated trumpeter, educator, and non-profit administrator based in New York City. She enjoys playing various genres of music and has performed with The Dallas Winds, New World Symphony, and Johnstown Symphony Orchestra. Melissa has a particular interest in chamber music and competed in the 2020 Virtual Fischoff Chamber Music Competition with Elm Street Brass Quintet. The group advanced to the semi-finals round and received the American Brass Quintet Prize. She is currently a member of the all-woman ensemble eGALitarian Brass, a classical brass quintet by day – brass band by night.

Melissa earned her Bachelor of Music degree at The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 and graduated with her Master of Music degree from Yale School of Music in May 2020, where she was awarded the John Swallow Brass Prize. She also studied at the Colburn School under the tutelage of Jim Wilt. Melissa is currently a fellow in Cleveland Institute of Music’s inaugural Future of Music Faculty Fellowship.

Melissa has a passion for education and loves bringing out meaningful musicianship in her students. She has served as Adjunct Instructor of Brass at Cheshire Academy since 2019 and maintained a private lesson studio since 2017. Melissa is a co-founder of Brass Out Loud, an organization dedicated to uplifting the voices of musicians from underrepresented communities. She has lectured on the topic of diversity in the brass world at universities across the U.S. and presented a panel discussion with virtual collaborative performances at the 2021 International Trumpet Guild Conference. As a staff member at the Kaufman Music Center, Melissa serves as Registrar/Administrative Associate at the Lucy Moses School and Music Program Coordinator (K-8) at the Special Music School. Additionally, Melissa serves as Educational Initiatives Coordinator and member of Nova Trumpet Collective, an organization that aims to elevate the trumpet chamber music standard through accessible performance and outreach with an emphasis on diverse representation of musicians and repertoire. Her hobbies include reading, running, and roller skating.

Amanda Pepping

Amanda Pepping enjoys a career as a performer, educator, and scholar. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras and bands throughout the US, Europe, Asia, and South America. She has performed with the National Repertory Orchestra, the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, and the Brass Band of Battle Creek. Several of her solo arrangements can be heard on Amanda, her solo album on Summit Records.

Prior to her current position teaching at Sam Houston State University, she served as trumpet professor at Georgia State University where she was artistic co-director of the avant-garde ensemble Bent Frequency.

In 2005-2006 Amanda was a Fulbright fellow in Germany where she studied the Baroque trumpet with world-renowned Dr. Edward Tarr. As a baroque trumpeter, she performs with Houston’s Mercury Orchestra, and has performed with groups such as Musica Antiqua Cologne, New Trinity Baroque, and the Houston Bach Society.

Amanda received her doctorate from the University of Texas in Austin with Ray Sasaki. She holds her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Arizona State University with David Hickman. Additional teachers include German trumpet soloist Reinhold Friedrich, Robert Dorer and Douglas Carlsen of the Minnesota Orchestra, and Emory Harvison of the Phoenix Symphony. ajp028@shsu.edu

Judith Saxton

Judith Saxton has 30 years’ experience as an international concert and recording artist, chamber and orchestral musician, liturgical improvisor, and educator. She is faculty and board member for Eastern Music Festival, principal and soloist with Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, and a national recitalist with her piano and organ duo partners with whom she also records. As an Alexander Technique (AT) teacher and Conn-Selmer artist/clinician, she offers her musicianship and body/mind expertise for conferences, festivals, universities and Eldercare facilities worldwide — most recently Italy, UK, Greece, Brasil, and China. Additionally, she regularly performs with orchestral and chamber organizations across the eastern seaboard.

Previously principal and soloist with Hong Kong Philharmonic, Illinois, Wichita and Key West Symphonies, Chicago Chamber Orchestra; guest principal for St. Louis and extra for Chicago Symphony; her chamber, solo and recording credits include Wichita Brass Quintet, Tromba Mundi, Millar and Monarch Brass ensembles, NC Brass Band, and two solo CDs, with her 3rd, a trumpet/organ collaboration, anticipated in 2020.

She is a graduate of Mansfield and Northwestern Universities and is a former Associate Professor at Wichita State University and University of North Carolina School of the Arts; her students can be found performing and teaching world-wide. Cindy Scaruffi-Klispie

Cindy Scaruffi-Klispie, a native Chicagoan, received a BM from Illinois State University and an MM from Northwestern University. She attended Interlochen Arts Camp (Principal-WYSO/Lead-Jazz Ensemble), was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, twice a Tanglewood Fellow, and a member of the Disney World All-American College Band.

She studied with Adolph Herseth, Vincent Cichowicz, William Scarlett, George Vosburgh, Bernard Adelstein, Tom Crown, Luther Didrickson, Arnold Jacobs, Herbert L. Koerselman, Charlie Schlueter, Roger Voisin, Susan Slaughter, Leon Rapier, and Giuseppe Bodanza.

Cindy has played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera, Grant Park Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, Elgin Symphony, Illinois Symphony, and many other ensembles here and in Europe.

She was Principal Trumpet of the Rome Opera, San Carlo Opera (Napoli), Southwest Florida Symphony, and the Sarasota Orchestra. She plays for the Sarasota Opera and has played principal for Opera Naples, Gulfshore Opera, Orlando Philharmonic, and The Villages Philharmonic. She has also played with The Monarch Brass and founded and plays in The Suncoast Brass Quintet. Cindy performed Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #2 at the NorCal Music Festivals.

Stacy Simpson

Stacy Simpson enjoys an active professional career as both a performer and educator. Currently, Dr. Simpson performs regularly with the Louisville Orchestra; is the lead trumpet of the Derby Dinner Playhouse Orchestra; teaches trumpet at Bellarmine University.

Stacy is a former member of the St. Louis Symphony. She has appeared as a soloist with the Municipal Band of Ecuador, Louisville Masters Chorale, University of Louisville Orchestra, Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music 18th Century Orchestra. She has also performed and given lectures throughout New Zealand, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and Ecuador. Sarah Stoneback

Dr. Sarah Stoneback is an innovative and exuberant performer, with over twenty years professional performance experience. Dr. Stoneback is an active Conn Selmer Bach Artist/Clinician, trumpet soloist, chamber musician and orchestral performer who has frequented stages throughout the United States, Europe and China. She has been featured with groups including; the National Brass Quintet, the InterHarmonyInternational Chamber Music Festival (Italy), Eurobrass, the Denver Municipal Band, the Montana State University Band and numerous high school bands.

Currently, Dr. Stoneback is the Trumpet Professor at Montana State University School of Music and holds the position of Principal Trumpet with the Bozeman Symphony. Sarah’s dedication and love for music can be traced to her early experiences, performing and traveling with Stoneback Sisters and Brass. Comprised of a triplet trumpet trio, trumpet quartet & brass quintet, this ensemble has presented over 2,000 educational seminars and residency programs. They frequently solo with bands and orchestras throughout the United States and Europe, including; the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, The John Philip Sousa Band, the South Dakota Symphony, the Texas Christian University and the United States Air Force Band of the West.

Dr. Stoneback holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Performance and Pedagogy and Masters of Music from CU Boulder, under Professor Terry Sawchuk. Dr. Stoneback has a bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance from Arizona State University where she studied with Regent’s Professor David Hickman. She is a 2000graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy, where she studied with Dr. Stanley Friedman.

Yvonne Toll Schneider

Yvonne Toll is one of Atlanta’s premier trumpet performers and instructors. She has been in high demand as a free-lance musician since moving to the area in 1988. She received her undergraduate degree from North Park University in Chicago and her Masters of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where she was awarded the prestigious Performers Certificate. 

Ms. Toll joined the Atlanta Opera in 1996 and was appointed Principal Trumpet in 1997. She often performs with the Atlanta Symphony and Ballet orchestras when extras are needed.   
In addition to her performing schedule, Ms. Toll maintains a teaching studio of students of all ages and levels. During a week each June, she is on staff for the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival, a unique music festival for youth grades 6-12. While living in the Atlanta area, Ms. Toll has taught trumpet as a part-time or visiting instructor at Georgia State University, Clayton State University, Emory University, Columbus State University, and Agnes Scott College. 

Ms. Toll enjoys running, cycling, rock climbing and hiking. In 2015 she completed the Ironman Chattanooga race. Through the Team-in-Training program, she and her training partners trained 9 months together and raised $253,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  https://www.facebook.com/yvonne.toll
