Other Uses

We have no specific information for this species, but a resinous wood oil can be obtained from the trunk of the tree. The oil is obtained by making V-cuts in the trunk and up to 10 litres of oil can be obtained from the most productive species. All of the oils have similar properties - they consist of a mixture of sesquiterpenes that are non-drying, limpid, light yellow in colour, homogenous and pleasantly fragrant. The oil serves diverse uses, in perfumes, paints, varnishes, for illumination etc[

We do not have any more specific information for this species, but it is a source of 'sepetir' wood. A general description of sepetir wood is as follows:-
The heartwood is pink-brown to red-brown, weathering to darker shade and often streaked with darker-coloured layers; it is clearly demarcated from the light pink sapwood. The texture is moderately fine and even; the grain shallowly interlocked. The wood is moderately durable. It is slightly difficult to difficult to resaw and cross-cut, but is easy to plane and the surface produced is smooth; nailing property is rated good. It is suitable for light construction, joinery and panelling, high-class cabinet work and furniture (especially the timber containing dark streaks)[
